About Aakanksha Seva Sadan

Thirty years of grassroots work with the poor and marginalised of Muzaffarpur and Vaishali.

Who we are

A society-registered NGO, rooted in the community since 1995.

Aakanksha Seva Sadan (ASS) is a non-governmental organisation promoted by a group of active and committed social workers in 1995. The organisation is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976.

Since inception, ASS has focused on the upliftment of poor women, children, adolescent boys and girls, and other needy and deprived sections of society, so that they can live a meaningful life. With sincere effort over the years, ASS has built a strong rapport with local communities, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and local administration in its area of operation.

ASS has been operational for over 25 years in Muzaffarpur and Vaishali districts, Bihar, working towards positive qualitative and quantitative change in the lives of the poor and marginalised through greater people's participation and realistic, ground-tested approaches.
