Safe Drinking Water — Bio Sand Water Filter Programme

  • Working since 2019.
  • 320 Bio Sand Filters (BSF) distributed to households.
  • High standards maintained during construction, installation and testing of every BSF.
  • 9 awareness-cum-training programmes held on cleanliness, personal and family hygiene, and safe water storage.
  • Regular publicity through wall posters, handbills, a BSF handbook, wall writing, and street plays.
  • Regular ASS follow-up visits to all BSF beneficiaries on filter use, water quality, and maintenance.
  • Measurable improvement in personal health and reduction of water-borne diseases in the area.

Livelihood & Skill Development — Vocational Training Programme

  • 1,560 unskilled, poor and marginalised women benefitted.
  • Secured livelihoods through employment or self-employment.
  • Raised socio-economic status and dignity within family and society.

Meri Panchayat Meri Shakti — Feminist Leadership in Local Governance

  • 1,000 women and adolescent-girl leaders functioning as effective agents of change in local government institutions.
  • A positive environment upholding feminist leadership, decision-making, and effective local governance.
  • Target groups gained skills and confidence to negotiate at individual, societal and systemic levels as feminist leaders.

Women Gaining Ground — Transformative Leadership Consortium (with CREA)

  • Promoted leadership and political participation of young women and women with disabilities across 2 blocks, 15 Panchayats and 66 villages of Muzaffarpur district.
  • Total coverage of 1,959 stakeholders — adolescents, SHGs, health service providers, parents, disabled persons and elected women representatives.
  • A positive frame of mind built around the women's rights movement.
  • Groups now work collectively — a shift from individual to collective identity.
  • Improved knowledge on gender-based violence, health, and reproductive & sexual health.

16 Days of Activism — Ending Gender-Based Violence

  • Worked to end violence and discrimination against women, girls and transgender persons in 10 Panchayats of Marwan, Musahari and Kurhani blocks.
  • 1,177 women, 423 adolescent girls, 30 women with disabilities, and 16 transgender persons participated in the campaign.

Education & Children

  • 2 education centres for poor children have been functioning since 2016 in Muzaffarpur.
  • 600 poor and marginalised children benefitted through quality learning support and enrolment in formal schooling.
  • A positive environment built for the regular education of children.

Tree Plantation & Environmental Education

  • 3 schools covered; 865 tree saplings (fruit and shade) planted.
  • Increased awareness of tree plantation and environmental protection among school children.

COVID-19 Relief Work

  • 1,345 families covered through relief material distribution — dry ration supply, face masks, and sanitisers.

Networking

  • As a network partner of the Piramal Foundation Network, ASS works towards the overall development of Muzaffarpur district.
